Laura Bandoch
22:04
I feel like I've always been going to libraries but didn't know it - my mom would let me come to her job at a dentist office and file everything alphabetically... hahaha
Beth Chandler

Own Voices is also growing and valuable for ifor people with disabilities/physical and cognitive differences.
Laura Bandoch
31:37
Or are people still hesitant to get physical books and may go back to that once there is a vaccine for COVID-19?
Laura Bandoch
33:51
I've seen Harford County post "browsing videos" on their social media so you can see what is on the shelf. I love that! And I've seen book bundles at other places.
Beth Chandler
33:55
a couple of systems are doing “book bundles” by subject for kids that can be requested.
Monica McAbee
34:24
These are great ideas, thanks!
Amanda DeLand
35:20
if surveys are an option, maybe have people submit topics they want librarians to select books for? like "long, in-depth histories" or "love triangles where nobody dies" or "magical worlds"?
Laura Bandoch
36:53
I know I've helped customers who want "books about nature" and they just want me to place 30 books on hold for them - sort of like we've been doing for teachers but now it's just with customers and their own children!
Adam Wall
36:57
We should get a two weeks notice before they officially merge the audiobooks into Overdrive (I think and if I remember correctly).
Monica McAbee

Thanks, Adam!

Books about the general history & culture of a particular country—especially non-European—is impossible since those white “country study” books went out of print
Joey Schenning
49:43
Wait, is that the one that calls someone a poop or something like that?
Joey Schenning
49:50
I think I remember that one ;)
