I agree with Erica about payment. I ended up in the prison library system because they had difficulty with recruitment and they offered me more money than I was getting as Manager in a public library where one of my white colleagues said to me: "Glennor even if I used to think you were hired because you were African American, I don't think so now"

We also need to participate in areas of discussion in schools. I'm not sure if Librarians are invited to give talks in schools especially among soon to b graduates

@Glennor, I agree. We have to start early and often (elementary-high schools) in order to draw more BIPOC to the information field.
